Community Links

At Holy Cross Boys’ Primary School, we believe that community links are essential in the growth, development and wellbeing of all our pupils.

We are proud of our strong roots within the local Ardoyne community. We have fostered enduring

relationships with local residents, youth and community groups, as well as Cliftonville FC, meaning our monthly Accelerated Reader winners spend an afternoon on the hallowed turf of Solitude playing football.

We have pro-actively moved to form partnerships with other schools to promote mutual

understanding and to celebrate the arts, something that has been widely acknowledged, including by the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins.

In Holy Cross Boys’ the Primary 7 pupils are involved in an annual ‘Transition Programme’. During this week the pupils are reorganised into mock Year 8 classes and experience what a school day will be like when they make the transition to their next school. Teachers from seven different Post Primary schools teach the pupils through a timetable that allows the pupils to move from class to class with different teachers for each subject.
